Other important efforts—like funding for Wilder Foundation homelessness research, permanent supportive housing, and other housing policy changes—are still moving ahead.
On the downside, only $1 million is included for shelter operations in the Human Services bill, and the Senate has not included this funding. Also, the Humane Encampment Policy bill was not heard in committee this year and will not move forward.

The Minnesota legislative session started on the 14th. You may have read that the session started with some drama. Nonetheless, we are focused on what we need to do to change systems that create homelessness, but we have a lot to do and need your help. At Agate, we are focusing on getting lawmakers to support us as we work to solve the homelessness problem in our state. We need funding and policy changes at every level to reach our goals.
