At Metro INN, a community garden is creating more than a place to grow food. It’s creating a space for connection, purpose, and community.

The garden came to life through the work of Metro INN residents, Agate staff, and community partners who saw an opportunity to create something meaningful together. We’re grateful to the Windom Community Council, Tangletown Neighborhood Association, Kenny Neighborhood Association, Lynnhurst Neighborhood Association, ACLU, Dan at South Lyndale Liquors & Market, and the WeFeedUs Build Crew for the time, resources, and support they gave to help bring the garden to life.

Today, the garden offers residents a place to spend time outside, connect with others, and enjoy something they helped create. In the video below, Agate staff and a Metro INN resident share how the garden came together and what it has meant for the people who call Metro INN home.

Metro INN provides Just Affordable Housing through Agate Housing and Services, helping people who have experienced homelessness find stability, support, and a place to call home.
