Recently, the White House issued and then rescinded an order to stop federal grant funding.

Other nonprofit leaders and I believe similar actions are still to come. I’m concerned we will face severe and sudden reductions in funding.

Your support is more important than ever. If our funding decreases, we will not be able to help as many people – at a time when we are needed more than ever. And that goes for every worthy nonprofit you support, not just Agate.

If you can make an additional gift to Agate right now, or other causes close to your heart, please do. We need to be ready when dramatic change comes.

In addition to monetary support, here are other ways to help:

• Call your legislators. Thank those who are fighting and tell them to fight harder. For those who support the pause of funding, tell them why federal funds for causes you support must continue.

• Activate your network, encourage them to call their legislators and make gifts to the causes they care most about. Introduce them to Agate!

• Follow and amplify news that will strengthen nonprofit support. We recommend the Minnesota Council of Nonprofits and the National Alliance to End Homelessness.

Together, we will continue to fight for our most vulnerable neighbors.
