We are proud to introduce S.E.E.D, Agate's new culinary training program. And, Chef Sean Sherman and Indigena by Owamni as our first internship partner.
We are excited to announce S.E.E.D., our new food services training program. S.E.E.D. stands for Skill Building, Employment Training, Empowerment, and Dedication.
Led by Janae Murphy, Interim Associate Director of Housing Programs, S.E.E.D. helps people learn food service skills. It also helps people build confidence and prepare for future jobs.
Participants will make meals for shelter guests with our kitchen team at our South Minneapolis women’s shelter. They will learn food service skills and how to work as a team.
Graduates can take the next step through internships with local restaurants.

The Butler Foundation supports S.E.E.D. through a grant. This support helps Agate start the program and create new career paths.
